Question: I dont have a generator and wont be able to get one so Im wondering what options I have for my sump pump that wont be expensive
Answer: -You can also buy a sump pump that runs off your water supply. You could put an old water heater or other tank upstairs, run a hose off of the boiler drain at the bottom, and run that to the pump, if the water utility is down. I'm not sure if that's enough head pressure to run the thing or not, I don't have the specs for the pump. Homeguard is the brand name I've installed for customers, but IMHO, it's not a great design. Plumbers lay more pipe by 9am than most people lay all week. -A Venturi Pump.. They are used for Aquariums.. not extremely efficent.. waste a TON of water.. but they work .. with no electric.. Had a friend pump 18 inches of water in a 20 square basement in 24 hours with one.. its not A1 perfect.. but it will definately move some water..
