Plumbing the Basement

Question: I want to finish my basement and include a bathroom, but I'm unsure how to plumb it... the pipe out to the septic tank is at about head level in one corner of the basement, and the last time I checked my physics, that was uphill from the floor of the basement... So, is there a pump one uses in these situations, or is it something I should just forget about?

Answer: -Its called a sewage lift pump. You need a tank also. Make sure it is installed corectly, unless you like the smell of sewage in your basement. Also, they do not work when the power is off, so the basement plumbing would be off limits. Any larger septic tank installer or plumber should have pricing on what you need. -If you want a really stiff floor sister each floor joist with a layer of 1/2" plywood in-between glued and screwed both sides. Cut the ply 1/2" less, 7" rips should be fine. ( To allow for shrinkage) You will end up with floor twice as strong and MUCH more rigid, no flex at all.
