plumbing and wiring questions

Question: I got my 50 Champion out running the other night for the first time and she seemed to go and stop fine. However, there were a couple of problems so I'm back to where the answers are. It's good to have a source to turn to. Upon return I found the floor was wet. Tracing the leak showed the climatizer switch/thermastat to be corroded, inoperable and leaking. Initial efforts indicate that this will not be an easy nos part to find. Does anybody have advice on a replacement? Also, are these valves rebuildable if they're in reasonable shape? I have most of the electrical circuits working but the temporary tape fix on these old wires is driving me nuts. Insulation falls off faster than I can tape them up. The circuits I'm still working on (turn signals, back-up lights, heater and defroster motors, parking lights) have me confused because I'm not finding fuses in them. I'm guessing the switches must have circuit breakers in them but can't be sure. Is this the case?

Answer: -The universal wiring harness from Painless Wiring is $260. Dave Miller, South Ga. S.D.C. www.georgiastudebaker.com -I put a Studebaker West wiring harness in my 52, and it was easy, wires are correct colors, laid out right, and NOT cloth covered! And the Thoms brothers are very down to earth.
