Clogged AC Evaporator Drain

Question: Last month I had the speedometer replaced on my 1994 Accord EX under warranty (10 days left) because it intermittently showed the speed at 20mph when the actual speed was much higher (up to 70-75mph). A week later I drove on a 500-mile trip with the AC on.. Near the end water started to drip from the dashboard under the glove compartment (the location of the evaporator). After the car was driven little for about 5 days, on the return trip the drip started after about 150 miles and caused the floor to get quite wet. After the speedometer was replaced I found several pieces of what appear to be paper-backed foam weatherstripping on the floor under the instrument panel location. My question is: could the pieces I found be insulation to dampen any squeak of the instrument panel and could a piece get into the heater/AC duct system when the instrument panel was removed and migrate to the evaporator, eventually blocking the drain hole in the bottom of the evaporator case?. If this has happened, I should be able to persuade the dealer to clean the evaporator drain without charge to me. Also, can the bottom case of the evaporator be removed (after removing the glove compartment to get to the evaporator) without having to remove the evaporator and thus open up the AC refrigerant system?

Answer: The repair could have clogged the AC drain. However, you may want to first reach under the dash, try disconnecting the drain hose, and try to unclog the outlet with a sharply hooked paperclip.
