 | venting a demand water heater |

Question: We're contemplated a propane water heater for our home in the country. It's a demand water heater and we're wondering what we can get by with as far as venting it to the outside of the building. It's a metal building; a quonset, and so I'd prefer not to vent out the roof, but through an end wall. This is where I'm wondering how much of a lateral pipe I can have to vent to the outside (ie, how large a pipe; what's the minimum rise I can get away with; and how many feet am I allowed to vent from the heater to the outside wall?). I was originally planning for an electric demand water heater, so that I wouldn't have to vent, but before going that way, I wanted to re-examine the propane solution because it has it's advantages over electric.
Answer: -Manufacturers of demand, gas fired, water heaters make models specifically for side wall venting. I suggest you look at whatever brand you are contemplating and select such a model. -That info came with my aquastar sorry I lost it try the site for Bosch Aquastar. A powervent will allow flexibility
