Question: I have been asked to post this by my mother. She has subscribed to the emergency plumbing service offered by Anglian Water for a couple of years. Today, her shower unit developed a small leak. She called out the service to fix the leak. She tells me that the plumber who came said that all he could do to solve the problem would be to turn the supply off at the mains. She does not feel that this is a satisfactory result and has asked me to post to warn that the Anglian Water Emergency Service does not offer all that might be expected.
Answer: certainly seems an abuse of an insurance policy to me. Not surprised though. When I moved here from London it came as a shock to find AW charging four times the Thames rate for a gall+sewage. They're rip off artists and should be avoided
