Question: My oldest son dropped a plastic toy and a pacifier down the toilet. The plounger didn't work and i tried an auger. I finally ended up taking the toilet up, turn of water to toilet and make sure you have lots of towels down to catch stray water, and getting the pacie out that way. I didn't know about the 2nd toy, so once i re-installed the toilet (with new wax ring sold at lowes) it flushed fine until the wife took a pee and wham, clog city. i wasn't about to re-do the ring thing, big mess, so i used the auger and eventually i heard a big thump and clog was gone.... BTW, when you use the auger, feed it in while turning the handle , and feed it in slowly, eventually it may come to a stop, and just push on it there and it will probably come out, mine did,,, yippee I flushed all tolets in the house a dozen times to clear line etc and all is well now...... the right way was to probably re-do the wax ring and get the other toy out, but i was tired and lazy at the time..... How do i fix a clogged toilet?
Answer: Depends on where the clog is. If it is in the loop use a closet auger. If it is past the waste flange you will need to pull the potty and use a drain auger
