Question: I want a couple of rads installed and I'm not up to it now, could have done this a few years ago but age has taken its toll. Anyhow, can someone suggest a good plumber in Thanet.
Answer: -I don't know a good one, only a really, really bad one. Stay away from a man named Richard at a plumbers in Ramsgate. Not only is he a crap plumber, he is a lying too. -That wasn't the problem in my first instance of wanting a job done, he came all right, but when shown the job, showed an immediate 'I don't really want this job'. I have to be very fair here, in that I was going to do the woodwork, tiling and I wanted him 'to fit in with me' to (1) take out the toilet, (2)replace it later with a new one in a slightly different position, (3) take out the wash basin and (4) ditto, then (5) take the bath out and (6) fit a walk in shower. In all a complete re do of the bathroom complete with tiled from floor to ceiling and tiled floor with under tile electric heating. With the helpful advice from my local plumbers store, B & Q, the toilet, wash basin and shower supplier, I am doing the lot myself. 1 - 5 are done and all the tiles are in place and I am now on 6. (2 days without a toilet whilst I did some building work. Chemical Camping loo to the rescue) Fit and young? Arthritis in both knees and nearly 70 Plumber in the past? Never ever done plumbing other than fit washers and replace Immersion Heaters. My advice to anyone struggling to get a plumber, go to the DIY Stores, the suppliers etc etc, tell them you know nothing about plumbing, 'What do I do to.....?' They will fall over backwards to help.
