Plumbing driving me crazy

Question: I'm about to loose it. I think I've figured out what I need to do to get a Techno hooked into my plumbing setup, but finding the necessary adapters is quite a challenge. I've got what appears to be a 1/2" compression hose hooked up under my sink. So what I need is a "T" device that has 1/2" male compression at 2 ends and 1/2" female comression on the third. Then, I need a converter that adapts 1/2" male compression to 3/4" male NPT. I hope I'm using these terms correctly. I have had the hardest time finding these things on the internet. Home Depot was useless. Is there more than one term for these fittings? Is there a good webpage on plumbing fittings that can clue me in?

Answer: -Most are 3/8" tubing, since it is the most common under sinks, but your might be 1/2". I don't see any reason why you can't find a compression tee. Try a hardware store instead. Install the tee above your sink's shut-off. -You sure that it is 1/2" compression? 3/8" is much more common. Second, you will never find the T that you describe. T's are generally all male and you will need to put a double female adapter on 1 leg. To go from 3/8 compression to 3/4 NPT might require several adapters in sequence ...just keep stringing them together 'til you get where you need to be. Sometimes professional plumbing supply stores are better stocked than Home Depot but they are not self service and counter man may or may not be helpful to an amateur. If you find a good one and tell him what you need to do, your worries may be over.
