Question: My gas hot water heater was intalled in 1979 and seems to be doing just fine, but I have plumbers in my house now replacing my galvanized pipes and am thinking about having them do the hot water heater as well. So do you think it is time to retire this hot water heater? Or stick with it?
Answer: -Go ahead, my original one was from 1971 and it bave up about two years ago and I was keeping the temp low since we don't have a dish washer. -I say that its time to give the old one an honorable retirement. You'll probably not have to opportunity to do it any cheaper.
