Holding tank plumbing damaged by tire blowout - advice needed

Question: After a terrific 2+ week trip to Buena Vista CO, and South Fork CO, we were headed back to Texas on I-40 east of Albuquerque, when I noticed my F250 felt a little loose. I glanced in my drivers side towing mirror at my TT's wheels and got a big eyeful of smoke, sparks and water! Later I found that most of the water was my half-full black take holdings sprayed all over the highway. The only tire that could have blown and done any appreciable damage, had been the 1st one to go. The action of the tread tearing off took out the complete black tank plumbing and part of the gray tank plumbing from the tank to the dumping valves. Now to my request for advice. Both tanks are abs. The gray tank dump piping is still partially attached to the tank. At the connection to the tank, it is basically "hinged", with the top half attached, and the bottom half cracked perfectly at the edge of the old glue connection i.e. the glue held, but the tank itself broke right around the outside of the abs glue bead. Followed the bead perfectly. I feel I should be able to glue this connection back together, does that sound right? Should any re-enforcement be used? or will a good cleaning and a nice thick bead of abs glue do the trick? Other suggestions? The black tank is in slightly worse shape. The damage to it, too, is confined to the area immediately around the dump plumbing attachment point, but the plumbing was ripped completely off, and the detached piece was rendered un-usable when it was ground against the road as we pulled over. I am hoping that the black tank also can be salvaged. The face of the tank that has the dump hole in it would have to be repaired as the NEW round-ish hole in the tank also appears to have followed the old glue-bead line, but this time all the way around, (maybe a flat piece of abs with the proper size hole in it glued to the face?) Does this sound plausible? or am I stuck buying a new tank? Lastly the subject of prevention. The dump plumbing is about 20" back from the left rear wheel. Has anyone had a guard built around their plumbing or any other suggestions for protecting the plumbing from the next blowout??
