Answer: -The Comfort Inn on US 19 is a long way from the Port. You would be better off staying at one of the downtown hotels or the airport Marriot. If you stay in Tampa you can easily get around by taxi or airpot limo. As far as the rental car company providing transportation to the port - it is best to call the one you're booked with and ask questions.... - I was on the Tropicale in August 1999- had a great time- ( excellent value for the money by the way). Alamo offered port transportation from their office off airport. They also provided transportation back to the ship. The shuttle at the airport was $10 per person each way. The car must be dropped off at their office. St. Petersburg is a LONG way from Port of Tampa. -We used Alamo, they picked us up directly in front of Terminal 6. Had to call first right after we disembarked...HAL had staff with cell phones as pay phones were busy
